Services
Nutrition Program
YBELCC's food program meets Alberta Health Services’ standards and conforms to the Canadian Food Guide’s recommendations. Portion sizes and number of servings will be consistent with Canada's Food Guide. YBELCC offers optional Nutrition program. Families can opt in to our Hot Lunch program. Daily Outdoor Play Based Experience and Walking Field Trips
Our daily programming includes designated times for regular outdoor activities with a minimum of one hour per day taking advantage of natural spaces or designed outdoor play space to encourage active play and gross motor movements. Daily outdoor play contributes to the general health of children including improved muscle strength, boosted immune system, and an improved mood. It also helps in social development and allow the children to learn important social skills like empathy, cooperation and friendship, which could help them to succeed later in life.
FLIGHT - Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework
YBELCC's programming is aligned with Alberta's Early Learning and Childcare Framework- Flight. We recognize children as "mighty learners and capable" means viewing them as strong, resourceful, and capable individuals with the potential to learn and grow through play, exploration, and participation, as emphasized in Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework. Our educators are focused on fostering children's natural curiosity, enthusiasm, and persistence, as these are key dispositions for lifelong learning.
